Maintenance Highlights for Semi-Welded Plate Heat
Regular Cleaning for Stable Heat Transfer Efficiency
Gaskets Are Wear Parts and Must Be Periodically Inspected
Plates Must Be Checked for Weld Integrity and Corrosion
Semi-welded heat exchangers require regular cleaning—CIP every 3–6 months and offline dismantling cleaning every 12–24 months—to effectively remove scale and deposits, ensuring stable heat transfer performance and extending service life.
Gaskets are consumable parts and should be inspected every 6–12 months for hardening, cracking, or detachment. Aged gaskets must be replaced promptly to avoid leakage or sealing failure that could cause unplanned shutdowns.
Plate inspection should focus on weld cracks, pinhole corrosion, and deformation. Any signs of perforation or cross-media leakage risk require immediate replacement of plates or welded pairs to ensure safe system operation.
Correct Assembly Sequence and Compression Dimension Are Essential
Perform Safety Checks and Increase Pressure Gradually
Adequate Spare Parts Help Minimize Downtime
During assembly, plates must follow the A+B / B+A sequence, bolts should be tightened diagonally and evenly, and the final compression length must match the nameplate A-dimension to ensure proper flow channels and reliable sealing.
Before starting or stopping the system, verify that valves, gauges, seals, and connections are in good condition. When starting up, pressure should be increased gradually to avoid water hammer, which could damage welds or gaskets.
It is recommended to stock 5–10% spare gaskets, a full set of plates, and welded plate pairs for ammonia systems, along with spare bolts and seals. Adequate spare parts allow quick replacement and significantly reduce downtime.
