During equipment operation, pay attention to whether there is any medium leakage at the edges and joints of the plates, especially after shutdown and restart, in order to identify leakage issues. At the same time, monitor whether there are any abnormal fluctuations in pressure and temperature, as this may indicate seal failure. During shutdown, check whether the gaskets have any extrusion, local deformation, or cracks, with a focus on high-temperature and high-pressure areas. Through the above comprehensive observations and inspections, potential issues with the equipment can be identified in a timely manner.
After cleaning the plates, immediately wipe off any residual chemical cleaning agent from the gasket grooves, as strong acids and alkalis can accelerate rubber aging. When cleaning the plates, do not use sharp tools to avoid scratching the gaskets or grooves, which could cause installation misalignment due to damage.
When disassembling, first relieve pressure and cool to room temperature. Then alternately loosen the bolts diagonally to prevent plate deformation. Avoid forceful disassembly to prevent gasket tearing or groove damage. When removing old gaskets, use a specialized plastic scraper to remove residual adhesive. Wipe the grooves with alcohol. Do not use metal tools to avoid scratching the plates. When installing new gaskets, ensure that the gasket is fully seated in the groove. For adhesive-type gaskets, apply 3M 7367 or similar high-temperature adhesive evenly to prevent gasket displacement due to twisting or suspension during operation. Bolt tightening should be performed in three stages, tightening diagonally to the design torque (±5%), to prevent over-tightening causing gasket compression or under-tightening leading to leakage.
