Structural Inspection and Sealing Maintenance 

Regularly clean the spiral plate heat exchanger according to the fouling tendency of the medium (typically every 3–6 months). Prefer in-place chemical cleaning (CIP) and select cleaning agents compatible with the plate material. Control cleaning temperature and time to avoid corrosion.
When a significant increase in pressure drop or a clear decrease in heat transfer performance is observed, treat it as possible fouling or blockage and stop the unit for inspection and cleaning in time.
For media containing solid particles or easy-crystallizing components, install strainers or filters at the inlet to reduce large particles entering the flow channels.

Continuously monitor inlet and outlet pressure, temperature, pressure drop and heat transfer performance, and compare them with design values or initial commissioning data. Investigate promptly if any abnormal deviation is found.
Keep the operating pressure and temperature strictly within the design limits to prevent plate deformation, bulging or weld damage.
Avoid frequent and drastic thermal shocks. During start-up and shutdown, increase and decrease temperature gradually to reduce thermal stress and extend service life.

Regularly inspect the shell, nozzles, flanges and supports for leakage, deformation or abnormal vibration. If leakage is found, tighten bolts or replace sealing elements in time.
Pay special attention to weld areas and high-stress locations. Check for cracks, corrosion spots or wear; non-destructive testing (UT/RT/PT) can be used when necessary to ensure structural safety.
For long-term shutdown, drain and dry the internal medium or fill with nitrogen for protection. Apply appropriate external anti-corrosion coating and maintain insulation to prevent external corrosion and moisture ingress.
